Welcome To Youth Service Corps

My experience with PICS has been deeply meaningful, as it allowed me to connect with youth leaders and contribute to important community initiatives. Through my involvement with the IYMS program, I had the opportunity to organize the 2025 Youth Summit, ensuring that young individuals had the platform to share their voices and ideas, and be truly inspired to make a change in the community. Seeing youth from diverse backgrounds come together to share ideas, build connections, and truly inspire one another was incredibly fulfilling. This experience strengthened my passion for youth empowerment and community leadership. The IYMS program at PICS was an incredible opportunity that really allowed me to take action in my plans for making a positive impact in society.

I had an amazing experience with PICS! Everyone at PICS was incredibly kind, caring and supportive of me and my career goals. The team was so helpful and supportive, guiding me through valuable certifications like Food Safe, which directly helped me in getting a job at Waves Coffee. The program gave me the skills and confidence to kickstart my career. Thanks to the support at PICS, I was able to obtain multiple certifications that will help towards building a better future for myself. I’m so grateful for the opportunity and everything PICS has done to help me succeed.

I had a fantastic experience with PICS. As a non-profit employment program, they went above and beyond to support me in finding meaningful work. The team was incredibly helpful. They offered guidance, encouragement, and practical tools to help me succeed. One of the most valuable things I gained through PICS was my Food Safe certification. This certificate made me a stronger candidate when applying for jobs in the food and beverage industry. It was a key requirement for my job at Waves Coffee. Thanks to the support I received at PICS, I was able to take important steps toward building a better future for myself. I’m truly grateful for everything PICS has done to help me succeed.

This program gave me a great chance to explore my potential and do something meaningful for my community. It was my first time writing a formal project proposal, but with your guidance, I was able to create a clear plan and successfully complete it.

I also gained important skills like organizing a project, being a part of a team, and further improving myself.

Through the Intercultural Youth Micro-grants Service Corps program, I had the opportunity to lead a community project focused on supporting local students. With the $1000 micro-grant, we organized a school supply drive and donated essential learning materials such as notebooks and stationery to the Surrey School District. This experience was deeply rewarding, as it allowed me to see firsthand how even a small initiative can make a meaningful difference for students and families in need. Working on this project strengthened my leadership, budgeting, and collaboration skills, while reinforcing my belief in the power of community service and youth engagement.
